The Kell Robotics Team of Kennesaw, GA earns the 2018 Chairman’s Award at the 2018 FIRST World Championship in Houston. This is the highest honor and most prestigious award at FIRST, honoring the team that best represents a model for other teams to emulate and best embodies the purpose and goals of FIRST.
This award recognizes the teams work in advancing STEM education, and workforce and economic development issues in Georgia and the United States.
There are over 515,000+ students, from 61,000 teams, in 86 countries participating in the FIRST family of programs that range from Kindergarten through High School.
The award received and subsequent induction into the FIRST Hall of Fame is based on over a decade of accomplishment by the team’s work in advancing STEM education and the impact of our community and world.
“We are very honored to receive this recognition, and we are very proud to represent over half a million students around the world as a role model. We hope our work will serve as an example and lead others to supporting the cause of advancing education around the world”, said Ed Barker, Mentor and Director of Kell Robotics.
