***************************IMPORTANT – PLEASE READ***************************

The following rules modifications will be in place for the 2018 GRITS Power Up event:

Section 4.1.2 Match Setup

The last paragraph about order of placement of robots is being removed. All robots will enter the field at the same time.

G05 – Don’t overextend yourself.

Change from “doesn’t apply to a robot fully within its platform zone at end game” to “doesn’t apply to a robot that has a majority of the robot in its platform zone at end game”.

G09 – Launching Power cubes is okay but keep it short.

Add bullet point D scenario for a legal launch to read:  If not in NULL TERRITORY or Bumpers  are not in contact with the switch fence then then when cube lands 3 feet or less away from the launching robot.  (in other words – keep in short…)

Add bullet point E scenario for a legal launch to read: if a robot is transitively in contact with the switch. (ex: robot is touching a cube that is touching the switch). This does not apply for robot to robot interaction.

G18 – Don’t mess with opponents in the Platform Zones.

Award a climb to the bot that was interfered with. Change this to award the alliance a climb, not the specific robot.

Revised G22 – One power cube per robot.

Herding power cubes during autonomous will not be considered a violation of this rule.

G25  – Plates are moved by power cubes and not robots.

If a robot runs into the scale and the scale movement does not tangibly affect gameplay, no foul will be called. If a robot is stuck under the scale and it is tipped in favor of their opponent, then no foul will be called.

Alliance Selections

Alliance Captains will not be allowed to ask other Alliance Captains to join their alliance.

One more change to the game rules for GRITS and a clarification:
At GRITS, we go straight to semi-finals for Play-offs. This means that there will only be four Alliance Captains. Normally the Alliance Captains select two other teams to be on their alliance. At GRITS they will select three other teams. So, the Alliances will be comprised of four teams. During semi-finals each of the teams must play at least one match. If the alliance makes it to Finals, then each team on the Alliance must play at least one match.
