Competitive events for all ages

Within FIRST, there are different levels corresponding to different ages, so there is a competitive challenge for every student. Each level as its own unique competitive challenge that changes every year and teaches students about problem solving, critical thinking, leadership and more. Learn more about the different levels here to discover the best program for you.

FLL Georgia is currently run by Georgia Tech. Visit their site for more information. The season typically runs from August to February.

GRITS 2025

The Georgia Robotics Invitational Tournament and Showcase (GRITS) is an amazing off-season event designed to give FRC teams an additional opportunity to compete in the 2025 Season's game, REEFSCAPE. It is also a great place to bring your new rookie team members to give them the true experience of competition. 

Each year our incredible partner, Automation Direct, designs and builds trophies for this event.  They have become one of the most coveted symbols of a team's success.  Thank you to all of our GeorgiaFIRST partners who contribute in order to make this event a success!

Below is the information you will need to make your event experience the best it can be.

Event Parking

Parking at this venue is free to all participants, guests and spectators. Please follow signs in parking lot that will direct you to designated areas (trailer and bus parking).

Load In/Out Instructions for Teams

All GRITS Teams should please complete the Load-In Form no later than the evening of Tuesday, September 30.

Load-In

Upon arrival, all vehicles unloading equipment/robot for the event, must enter the Load-In Staging Area. Proceed towards Curtis Lot and volunteers will direct you. MAP

Load-Out

NO LOAD-OUT CAN OCCUR BEFORE 2:00PM (AFTER SCHEDULED LUNCH)

In order to provide a safe and timely load-out for your team, please follow the procedures below:

1. Notify Pit Admin of your intention to load-out.

2. All items in your pit must be relocated to a load-out station before you can reposition your vehicle to begin the load-out procedure.

3. When your pit is completely empty (including returning your venue pit table to the table carts located at the end of the isle), please notify the load-out lead (identifiable with yellow vest) that you are ready to begin load-out.

4. Your load-out vehicle can enter the load-out area to begin the process.

Safety is the main concern during the Load-Out procedure. Please follow all of the instructions given by the Load-Out crew. We wish you safe travels on your journey home.

Outside food and drink will be permitted in this venue.

NOTE: For EVERY Event, there is NO GRILLING or cooking of food allowed anywhere on the premises at any time. This includes the Parking Lot. If you have your heart set on this idea, please find another off-site location that allows grilling/cooking, like a local park or other approved area.

Consent & Release Form

All participants, including coaches/mentors are required to have completed their
2025-26 FIRST Consent & Release Form DIGITALLY prior to check-in. 

Team Coach 1 or 2 will bring a printed FIRST Team Roster to Pit Admin at the designed time.

REMEMBER:
BOTH Coach/Mentor #1 and #2 must have completed their FIRST Consent & Release Form in Dashboard and passed YPP in order for their team to participate.

As a heads up/reminder, ALL participants will need to be signed up for your team in Dashboard and have their Consent & Release forms completed. Start the process early for getting all your students registered. Like last year, all registration will be digital/online.
