2026-2027 Google Grant for FIRST Tech Challenge Teams
The Google Grant for FTC Teams is Back!
The Google Team Support Grant for FIRST Tech Challenge Teams is back for the 2026-2027 Competition Season!
Georgia FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC), with support from Google, is offering the final year of the Google Team Support Grant to FIRST Tech Challenge teams for the 2026-2027 competition season. Google's priority with this funding is to reduce barriers and increase participation in the FIRST TechChallenge among middle school-aged students who are under-resourced or have traditionally been underrepresented in STEM.
Last year, GeorgiaFTC awarded over $87,000 in Google grant funding directly to FIRST Tech Challenge teams in Georgia. This year, our goal is to provide over $100,000 in grant funding to our FTC teams.
The Grant is open to Rookie and Veteran teams that have middle-school-age students on their teams and meet one of several other criteria. This grant is also a great way for former FIRST LEGO League teams to transition to the FIRST Tech Challenge program.
New for this season, as a part of this grant, is the opportunity for VEX teams to transition from the VEX V5RC competition to the FIRST Tech Challenge. To find out more about FIRST Tech Challenge and the grant offering, visit the FTC page here on our site.
